Text to Columns function picks wrong number format after conversion

Using the text to columns option on a comma separated file in csv format leads to the right preview in the text to columns wizard.
The column titled "ATTIC: Zone ..." shows the desired format in the preview window. Please look at the screenshot 1.jpg.

After pushing the finish button to obtain the result the number format gets suddenly changed and differs from the preview.
Again check for the "ATTIC: Zone ..." column as reference: 2.jpg

Is there a menu where one can look up, or specify how to format data to force the right comma placement? What settings might be wrong?
Thank you for any hint!

so hard to tell with pictures (plus the picture itself is fuzzy)
are you able to upload sample file ?

Re: Text to Columns function picks wrong number format after conversion

I could attach a sample file, but I tried to do the same thing on another excel instalation and it worked fine so it is not an issue with the csv file.

Attached please find zoomed pictures of the example data that I was pointing to. As you can see in the preview window, for example the column named "ATTIC: Zone Mean Temp..." has the desired format. It shows some value like "22.33444223423"3.JPG.

If I now perform the conversion by pushing the finish button in the same window the data format gets changed and I get a number like "233.444.223.423" in the same column from above ("ATTIC: Zone Mean Temp...")4.JPG.

I would like to know which settings menu I have to access to get this fixed as there is no obvious reason for me why excel changes the format.

Please do not upload a picture of your file...rather, upload a sample of your workbook, showing what data you are working with, a few samples of your expected outcome is (manually entered is ok) and how you arrived at that. (exclude sensitive info). Pictures are pretty much impossible to edit, and no-one wants to re-type your data for you Also, not all members can upload picture files (Company firewalls and stuff)
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you
