    Unhappy CSV format behaves strangely.

I have some email lists in csv format. In one file there are ~125K entries and the file size is ~3MB. Now when i create another file with ~100K entries, the file size is 23MB!!! Why is it so..How to find the culprit that is bloating the file size?

I can send the files to the person who wants to examine them!

    rkhyd,

    Welcome to the forum.
Did you create the csv file from Excel?
I am wondering if there were blank rows at the bottom of the data on the excel file that was not cleared out correctly. Maybe data was pasted on the sheet at one time and then removed, then a smaller number of rows was pasted again, then saved.
    This can cause bloating!

    Hello,

Thanks for quick reply. There are no blank rows at the bottom. However there are blank columns. I tried to delete the columns but excel cannot do that operation because of less resources.

    rkhyd,

Can you copy the data only to a new workbook and see what results you get. Try not to copy any blank columns!
