Hi,
i need to move a lot of data, so in relation to my uploaded sheets
is there an easy way to move the Skills, Talents and trappings from the Index Database to the Index in the same format that the Career entries/exits are already in the index?

Hi Genius;
So, I haven't exactly done a super deep dive into your data structure for the Index Database...
However, if EACH of the different career options has the same data structure, and in the same order as the INDEX worksheet, then I would recommend throwing an auto-filter on the header, and doing a text sort for 'containing' Skills, copy/paste the results, the same on talents/trappings...
Give that a shot... or if I completely missed the ball, we can bring a shotgun to a knife fight and try to figure out a VBA solution that'll meet your needs.

How about this formula approach?

Hi Miraun,
(i hope i pronounced that right) Yeah you hit the proverbial nail right on the head thanks
yeah it was an import from a pdf file and supposed to be exactly the same structure but its a little out, though nothing i can't hand fix before filtering
no need for a vba I'm sure i have enough of them in the workbook already lol
Hi Cyiangou,
(my Gosh your name is even harder to pronounce than miraun's),
all i can say is WOW MAN that is a lot of formula.
when i read the formula you wrote i sort of can understand what it is doing but i'm in no way at the level to write stuff like that it must have taken you ages and i feel really bad. when i opened it i saw it was perfect so i just selected the whole sheet, copied special and just pasted the values only.
it was like 3 seconds work for me to get exactly what i needed.
i really appreciate all the effort you put into it for me, considering you don't know me from a bar of soap
so thanks a Million
A pleasure. Don't mind me, I just like challenging problems, only took about 20 minutes. Thanks!
