Question Fill blank cells in a column?

Hello. I have a excel sheet with 25k rows.
As you can see in the screen shot on the first rows I need to fill the blank 3-4 rows with the article number just above te blanks. See the first Column A row 2-4. Thats how the entire 25k rows of column A need to look.
    How can that be accomplished?

No reply... OK. Assuming that there are ALWAYS two blank rows, put this in A2 and copy down as far as needed:

    =OFFSET($B$2,3*INT((ROWS($1:1)-1)/3),,,)

OK. Put this in a spare column, row 2. Copy down as far as needed. Then select all values, copy them and paste values back into column A. delete the content of the spare column.

    Done??

    =IF(A2="",D1,A2)

Re: Fill blank cells in a column?

Thank you. I put it in column E 2:nd row but nothing happens. Im using Excel 2011 on a mac, would that be a problem with special symbols?

Where are you (that's why we ask for this information to be shown in your profile)? If you're in mainland Europe, you may use ; instead of , As you can see it worked here.
