Re: Date Formatt not detected as date by excel

Try this.
• In column C type this formula. =INT(B2) That extracts the date portions.
• fill / copy down if the Table doesn't do that automatically.
• just for insurance purposes (never throw away good data) extract the time in column D with this formula =MOD(B2,1)
• you will need to reformat that for time.
• Now copy both those columns and paste values back onto themselves.
• Select the dates in column C and drag them over to column B replacing those.
• You can of course skip the step extracting the times.
Did this help?

meus, forum rules require you to wait at least a day before bumping your thread

Having said that, 1 way to "fix" this...
1. highlight the entire range
2. click Data tab/Text2Columns
3. click Next/Next/check Date and pick a format
4. click Finished
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Hi FDibbins, thanks for your reply..
I had tried that, it did not work before... But it worked for the file attached in my above file... But unfortunately, the same method does not work in my original Excel file... confused..
