    Problem with graph axis

    Hi

I want to plot data series A and B into one graph. The date in column A is end of month dates. I have no choice but to Format Axis and choose Text/reverse order because if I don't the dates come out as beginning of month dates. I need to plot Series A in secondary axis as it is a much smaller number but when I do so it becomes unaligned with the right dates. What should I do to get the blue line aligned to the right dates in the axis?

    thanks

My first thought is to add the secondary horizontal axis (https://support.office.com/en-us/art...horizontalaxis ), then format the secondary horizontal axis to match the primary horizontal axis. Then, if desired, hide the secondary horizontal axis.

    Re: Problem with graph axis

An interesting side note, after posting my response above. Out of curiosity, I decided to see how the older versions of Excel would treat this situation. I opened your file, made no changes, saved as '97-2003 format, then opened in Excel 2002. The chart looked correct in 2002 without any modification. Some of the need to bring up the secondary horizontal axis is related to the chart [sarcasm]upgrades[/sarcasm] in 2007+

Thanks for your reply. I added a secondary horizontal axis and the two series are aligned. How do I hide the secondary horizontal axis?

    Re: Problem with graph axis

Format axis so it has no line, no tick marks, no labels, etc. All should be accessible from the format axis dialog.
