Re: Query in formatting of excel

    Hi,
I don't understand if you need a sum of you figures by making a difference between debtor and creditor amounts or if you want to transform them according to their nature.
In your data there is no difference between debtor and creditor amounts, they are all expressed as positive numbers. The usual solution in this cases is to add a column where you indicate which is the nature of the amount:
    Liabilities(cr)
    Current assets(dr)
    Sales(cr)
    and so on...

    Hope this helps.
    OT

    Hi vjharry,
As i said, there is no difference between your cr and dr figures. You would need to differenciate them some how when exporting, or bring to Excel the nature of the account..

    Sales Accounts 5000.00 Cr

You are seeing 5000.00 Cr but that is because of the custom format you have applied.
In fact, the amount in the cell is 5000
Can you bring a column containg the "Dr's" and "Cr's" ?

Re: Query in formatting of excel

Can you separate the Dr and Cr indicators to a new column?
Right now it is not possible to do what you want as all your numbers are positive. Your Dr and Cr only show because of your custom format and cannot be used

Re: Query in formatting of excel

I see the Cr and Dr but they are just part of cell format. They are not usable text
What you are asking is to change numbers like this

    5000
    200
    3500

into negatives or positives with no usable indicator as to which are negative and which are positive
