Protecting worksheet, but letting user check checkboxes...

    Hello,

I have a worksheet with quite a few checkboxes, which a user needs to be able to check and uncheck at will, but I can't let them edit anything else on the worksheet...

I found this guide on how to do such a thing: https://support.office.com/en-us/art...3-042a5f2cd93a

But with that I am only able to unlock whole cells and let them edit either both the check of the checkbox and the text of the checkbox (and I definetly do not want them to be able to do that last bit).

So, how can I let the users check those checkboxes, without giving them the ability to do literally anything else on that sheet (besides maybe clicking and scrolling if they like to do that).

    1) Be sure to LOCK all the cells under the checkboxes.
    2) Right-click each checkbox, Protection, unlock (leave "text" locked)
    3) Make sure the linked cells for these checkboxes are unlocked, in this case column Z cells?
    4) Now protect the sheet.

Re: post #2. Select one checkbox, then press CTRL+SHIFT+SPACEBAR.
This selects ALL the objects on the sheet, so you can change their Locked properties all at once.

Ah, I didn't know that the linked cells of the checkboxes had to be unlocked as well, but it makes a lot of sense.

    Thnx all!

I follow all of these steps but It is still Protecting my check box. Only the check boxes that do not have linked cells are able to be clicked on. Yes my Linked cells are Unlocked (not checked)
