    Re: Drag-Reagrrange

I do not understand what you want to achieve. In any event, non-editable pictures are of little use.

Will you please attach a SMALL sample Excel workbook (10-20 rows of data is usually enough)? Please don't attach a picture of one (no-one will want to re-type all your stuff before starting).

    1. Make sure that your sample data are truly REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.

    2. Make sure that your desired solution is also shown (mock up the results manually).

    3. Make sure that all confidential information is removed first!!

    4. Try to avoid using merged cells. They cause lots of problems!

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment. So, to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: Just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

    Re: Drag-Reagrrange

Please attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

    Re: Drag-Reagrrange

Is this connected with your thread on groupings?

Do I understand correctly that you want to be able to group items in Excel and then to be able to select those groupings and move them around? If so, have you considered using tables?

What you will not be able to do (at least not natively) is to drag tables around and them move out of each others' way as you do so, so without coding (and I don't even know if it's possible then), you will not achieve the interactive quality of your app's menu.

Please attach a sample worksheet showing BEFORE and AFTER. Telling us that we don't understand and then not EXPLAINING clearly doesn't take us much further forward....

    Re: Drag-Reagrrange

You can drag to rearrange items in Excel: select the cell containing the data (without actually entering the cell) and then drag the box around it to move the cell and its contents.

However, nothing else will move automatically when you do so.

    Re: Drag-Rearrange

Yes, I know that - that is what I said. In other words, you CAN drag single or multiple cells in Excel, but you CAN'T have Excel respond in the way your app responds.

You still have not provided a workbook, however.

You need to go to their websites, find their suggestions mechanism (it's User Voice on the MS site) and make your suggestions there.

Google should help you find them.
