Question Automatically define names from a selection of columns

    Hello,

In using the name manager to define names using the create from selection option I ran into a problem. I have two columns, the left column (Location) contains the name I want for the cells in the right column (Items). The left column is the category to which the items on the right belong. I need to find a way to automatically define a name for the cells to the right since I have hundreds of rows. Currently if I use the create from selection(shift+ctrl+F3) it will overwrite the existing name since the cells on the right belong to the same category. How do I name all the cells in the right column using the Location category into one name automatically?

Attached is a short example of random data.

    Thank you

Wow thanks a lot for your help. I was going a bit crazy trying to figure it out. Based on your reply, I should learn VBA since it will definitely make my life easier.
I don't understand the code yet, but will look into it.
