    Percentage change

Dear all, pls i need help on how to calculate the percentage change on the below
[*] The figures are showing pallets need in a warehouse, the whole warehouse pallet space needed = 3744[*] But they have 6843.1 pallets, meaning the warehouse is over full.[*] The difference between the two figures is 6843.1 - 3744 = 3099.1[*] Now want to calculate the percentage change on both figuers and adding both percentage should be = 100

    Re: Percentage change

    Welcome to the forum!

Please explain your logic (not the mathematical calculation) - why should the two values come to 100 percent?

    Re: Percentage change

I know what you need, but you haven't explained the logic of the calculation.

Sorry - I can't helped based on the information given as it is too scant.

Well... I will wade in with a blind guess. Take a look. If this is incorrect (it probably is!!), please post a sample with a few rows and include some MANUALLY CALCULATED expected results.

    Re: Percentage change

    Thanks Glenn,

    That was nice and ok

Pls have used same formula but look at the image attached and see second row with different figures the number of pallets has increase hence the percentage change should also go up but rather going down.

Wish i can get some good explanation on that cos its confusing me.

    Re: Percentage change

Why do you expect it to be different???

I am struggling to understand what you are doing. A warehouse that is more tan 100% full just does not work as an analogy.

What EXACTLY are you trying to do?

Pls am thinking that since the warehouse is full then the percentage change should go up just like the first row you did resulting to 83.3% increase but the second row is resulting to 45.3% decrease
