Task List to Auto-Populate into a Calendar with 12 Entries, Bi-weekly

Hi all! This is my first post, very glad to join your community. I'm writing to learn how I might add additional entries to this calendar file. I'm managing many events per day, and having the ability to log 12 instead of 7 per day would be very helpful. Also, I was wondering how to take the calendar and make it bi-weekly, or in two week increments, as opposed to monthly. Any help would be truly appreciated!

Re: Task List to Auto-Populate into a Calendar with 12 Entries, Bi-weekly

First of all, bring the calendar years more up to date by amending the Data Validation drop-down in cell K4 of the Calendar sheet. Select that cell then click on the Data tab and on Data Validation (twice), and you will see a range of years in the Source box separated by commas. Change this to 2021,2022,2023,2024,2025,2026,2027 and then click on OK to make it more applicable.

Then for each weekly block insert 5 blank rows between the 6 and 7 in column A - you need to do this 6 times, as there are 6 weekly blocks. You can then number the cells from A3 to A14 to run in sequence from 1 to 12. You may need to widen the column slightly to see the numbers above 9. and then you can copy that block of 12 numbers down to the following weekly blocks in column A.

Originally, the formulae that were in the top weekly block all referred to cells on row 2 (i.e. the dates) by means of the $ symbol, e.g. to B$2 in column B, but then I replaced the $ symbol so that the whole weekly block could then be copied more easily into the weekly blocks below. So, you should select the cells B8:H8 and then CTRL-H to bring up the Find & Replace dialogue box and replace 2 with $2 (there should be 14 replacements). You can then copy that block of cells (i.e. B8:H8) down into the blank rows that you have just inserted for numbers 7 to 11 in column A for that week. Then select cells B8:H13 and Ctrl-H again to change $2 back to 2 (84 replacements).

You can then copy all the formulae from the block of cells B3:H14, and paste them over the appropriate cells in the lower weekly blocks in turn, and then you are done.

Note that the original file was designed to be viewed in Landscape mode, but now that it has been lengthened it may be better to print it in Portrait mode.

I'm not really sure what you mean by making it weekly or bi-weekly, as some months may require up to 6 weekly blocks to display completely. Also, you would need to have some way to indicating which week(s) to start the calendar at, so how would you envisage that this would be set up?

I'll be offline now for a few hours, but let me know how you get on with modifying the calendar - I can always attach the file in its finished state if you get stuck.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete
