Question excel table cells seem to get their values altered

so i got an office 365 excel with 5 sheets having excel tables in them. Two users (who work in different sheets) reported a similar issue in 3 days period after using the excel for several months with no issues like this.

Several cells in 1 of the table columns seem to have their values altered after the users modified other parts of the table. the altered values are valid (even part of a validation list) but where not intentional.

the altered cells have no formulas (other columns have) they are simply numbers in one case and validation list text values in the second.

i tried reproducing the issue perhaps by makeing wroong copying or smthng but with no luck. all we have is at some point the users noticing wrong values in sevelral cells of one table column.

i found this post similar to what we experience but with no resolution.

Dunno... especially when you have not posted a sheet showing the problem (assuming that you can demonstrate a weird sounding problem like this!!).

is there a sort on the table, so when new data is entered it tends to move data in the rest or the table around based on which column it is sorted by?

well sorting takes place all the time - not on the problematic columns but it does. this should not mess up the values. i checked the table size is correct, no accidental resizing or something.
