    Returning one value from two sources

    In the attached document, I would like to return a value of W or L in column B determined by Column E being greater than or less that column H.

    You can use this formula in B2:

    =IF(E2>H2,"W","L")

    then copy down. Note that this doesn't take account of drawn games (scores are equal).

    Glad to help, Greg. If you wanted to account for draws, then you could use this formula in cell B2:

    =IF(E2=H2,"D",IF(E2>H2,"W","L"))

    then copy down.
