Excel is a spreadsheet software that is primarily designed for working with numbers and calculations, rather than manipulating graphical images. As such, Excel does not have a direct way to convert pixels to inches. However, you can use a formula to calculate the conversion manually.
Here are the steps you can follow:
First, determine the resolution of the image in pixels per inch (PPI). This information can usually be found in the image file properties or can be calculated using an image editing program.
Determine the size of the image in pixels by looking at the image dimensions in pixels.
Divide the size of the image in pixels by the resolution in pixels per inch. This will give you the size of the image in inches.
For example, if you have an image that is 800 pixels wide and 600 pixels tall, and the resolution is 100 pixels per inch, the image size in inches would be:
Width in inches = 800 / 100 = 8 inches
Height in inches = 600 / 100 = 6 inches
You can then enter these values into Excel as needed. Keep in mind that this method is only an estimate and may not be entirely accurate, especially for images with varying resolutions.
Hi Sandy666,
After reading your very well thought out answer, I discovered that I was going about my problem the wrong way.
I did not need to change to Inches. I just had to use the correct number that describe the size of the cell.
I was trying to use the Height number instead of the Pixel number to get a square cell. After reading your reply, I realized how to do what I wanted.
I thank you Sandy666 and apologies for not stating clearly what I wanted as an end result.
All of you Forum Responders are great.
Mike
You are welcome
Have a nice day
