Multiple Conditional Formatting Issue

I have conditional formatting based on column A which then formats the row based on that value. Easy bit done.

The issue i am now having is that i on top of that, want to conditional format cells within column D and only that cell within column D based on another calculation within that row (basic one cell minus another cell). But i want the rule to ignore any blanks within column D and if it is blank then keep the original conditional formatting based on column A. I have tried a few ways from googling such as adding a rule to not format blank cells or the ignore blanks option but when i use them the cell within column D ignores all conditional formatting and goes "white" when i want it to keep the formatting based on column A.

I have no idea if this can even be done but any help would be great.

I'm looking at this on an iPad so I can't see the actual CF and your formulae for column A are not shown.

You would need to AND the conditions together. For example, =AND("column A condition", "column D condition") changing the text to the actual formulae you need.
