    Question Override Conditional Formatting Colors

    Hello Dears,

Is there any way to Override conditional formatting coloring instead of clearing the format from the cell.

I need to highlight specific cells and give them another color manually

I don't think so... maybe you could change the text colour instead... or put a border round the cell(s) you want to mark.

Open the name manager & create a new name (I called it HasColour) & enter this in the refers to box
    Formula: copy to clipboard

Then you can use that in the CF rule like
    Formula: copy to clipboard

The workbook needs to be saved as an xlsm or xlsb & macros need to be enabled.

    Re: Override Conditional Formatting Colors

If I'm not mistaken, to follow up on post #3 you have to enable Excel 4.0 macros and save your work as xlsm files ( Fluff, correct me if I'm wrong please). No programming involved, don't worry

    Re: Override Conditional Formatting Colors

I don't have Excel 4.0 macros enabled, I think that's just if you use them in VBA rather than the sheet.

    Re: Override Conditional Formatting Colors

Put a second parameter to the CF formula

    if(and(A1="X", your formula)

    Re: Override Conditional Formatting Colors

You have not set a format, which is why it doesn't work.
Also it should be just the one rule
    Formula: copy to clipboard
