Daily data conversion to Monthly totals

Sorry guys. I uploaded a wrong file.

Hey Guys. I have a daily rainfall data and I want to convert it to monthly totals. I tried the pivotal table but the arrangement of the data seemed to be confussing(i.e the year, month and day are in different columns). Please see the attached data and help me out. Thanks

Perhaps this will help you out. The daily data is grouped on Year and Month.

    Put this formula in C3:

    Formula: copy to clipboard

    and copy down.

Then put this formula in K6:

    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

and copy that across and down your table.

    Hope this helps.

    ohh..thats where it went.....

    the basics of pivot table
Highlight all our data so B1:F14174
    on your ribbon bar
select "insert" and then click "Pivot table"

this you pop up a menu to create the pivot table, click ok
on a new sheet will be pivot table field list
its a simple click and drag process
put station and Year in row label
    put month in column label
and then put rain into values box

sounds like a handful but really it isnt
if you got lost anywhere along that
