Question Trouble with Spreadsheet Compare tool

I am trying to use the Microsoft Compare Tool to compare two spreadsheet.

    See this screenshot:
    http://didah.com/Compare.png

It does not show the differences between the two spreadsheets.

And the exported file is garbage.

Can anyone tell me how to use this tool?

    Thank you for your help.

Re: Trouble with Spreadsheet Compare tool

This works well when it has the same rows, and different values in their cells.

But my two files have different rows, with 2/3rds of them being the same.

I am trying to determine what new rows were added.

Please look at the attached two files.

Re: Trouble with Spreadsheet Compare tool

You could just do a vlookup or match across the two sheets. No match would indicate a new row.

Enter this formula in 3-2-16 Zacks Rank 1.xlsx in cell D3 and fill down and across. Both workbooks have to be open at the same time.

In the other workbook enter this and fill across and down to check against the first workbook
