Dropdown list with password for a whole column

Hi all,

I am tasked to make a diary at work. The idea is Columns A - F would be spaces for entries then Column G would be initials (here is where i need the dropdown).

I came across this link http://www.excelforum.com/excel-gene...down-list.html which is promising but for the life of me I cannot modify it to suit my needs.
