Data Connection between workbooks & inter relationship

Hi,
I am working on a number of excel workbooks and I need help with.
The structure is the following:
1. Input Workbook: This excel workbook as a front interface for uses to enter data. This Workbook I am currently trying to use data connection to connect with three other workbooks mainly the below workbooks.
2. Supplier Workbook: This excel sheet contain suppliers’ detail. This will be updated only by selected users, the input workbook will get information from this workbook.
3. Budget Workbook: This excel sheet contains different expense codes with a monthly budget. This will be updated only by the administrator, the input workbook will get information from this workbook.
4. Orders Workbook: This will have the information which will be fed from the Input Workbook. But the input workbook will also get information from this workbook.

This is possible, how can I get this to work.

Thanks.

Are these 3 separate files/workbooks, or 3 sheets/tabs within the same file, you seem to use the terms interchangeably?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

Yes it is possible. It probably involves VLOOKUPs across the workbooks or maybe VBA code if more than a lookup is required. Without seeing the workbooks and how the data is organized and what information is needed, I can't give a better answer than that.

Try compressing it and send the compressed file.

We dont need the entire file/s, just enough data to see what you are working with, along with some examples of what your expected outcome would be

We don't need all those files, nor the entire folder - we just need 1 of 2 files, with just enough data so see what you are working with, and we need some samples of what your expected outcome would look like.

This thread has had over 130 views, so Im thinking that most members don't want to deal with the volume of files you posted

I'm with FDibbins. You mention 4 files in the original post. In the directory structure you sent, I can't tell which 4 files are the ones to use. Can you pare it down to just the 4 files you need. Normally I'm complaining about not enough information in this case, we have too much.

Re: Data Connection between workbooks & inter relationship

I have reduced the sheets in the attachment and I am sorry for the confusion.

Is it possible to change the connection string (under connection properties, definition) Mode=Share Deny Write. I need to be able refresh the data and
save changes in the corresponding data connections.

The Workbook the end user will be using is the Submit New Purchase Order the rest of the workbooks (in the folder called Back Office) are data tables that the Submit New Purchase Order workbook obtain the required data. The Idea is to have all the sheets in the workbook Submit New Purchase Order Hidden (VeryHidden)and will have just the sheet Purchase Order Showing.

I hope I am not created a monster.
