    Create a sepearte column baesd on the data in other columns

    Hello all,

    I have a table about countries and their cities information , which i exported from Access. now, I Need to create a new column(Shortcut) specifying C/S for each Country first row and only S for other rows. (I.e based on the data in Countries and Cities column). Pleaase see the attachments

    Try this:

    =IF(COUNTIF($B$1:B1,B1)=1,"C/S","S")

    Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

    Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.

    Hi Ali,

    I tried that but its not working. Attached , you can find the result I got after executing above the formula. I tried making some changes but still no use.pic.JPG. I also, attached a sample workbook with before sheet and after sheet. Please look at that.

    Explain to me why row 13 is C/S/R and not just S/R, please.

    With the exception of row 13, this works:
