Excel Hyperlink to open pdf- Error - "No program is registered to open this file

    Hi,

I am trying to create hyperlink to a open .pdf file. Every time a new pdf file will be opened based on the cell value.

I have managed to put up the following code

However this is resulting in error "NO program is registered to open this file"

I work in a shared desktop/virtual desktop environment. And adobe reader is installed in system. Also checked that in file association .pdf is set to Adobe reader. After going through various threads also tried the method of using /unregserver and /regserver for Adobe Reader. But that did not solve the issue.

I cannot use the following code as it restricts sharing with others. As all may not be using adobe Reader 10

Is there any other way to do this. Please help me with this.

    Thanks

IF the file does not exist, it would not open. Sounds like there is no windows file association though. If that is the case, neither of these two methods would work either.

Thank you very much for helping on this.
I am not sound at vba. Just trying to understand what we are telling to excel in second code (declare function find executable) in above message. Also do i need to paste both codes in different modules to work?

    Thanks

Thank you! very much. Macro is working if files are on desktop only. I should have mentioned earlier that I was using desktop as a test. My files are not stored in primary drive. So I have changed the following line in code

    to

But that does not seem to work. How can I get the macro to work for files not in special folders.

    Thanks

Looks like this does not work, as my files are not in "Mydocuments". They are on E:\ drive.
