Exclamation Excel userform crashing with “compile error in hidden module”

    Hello,

Some of my users are experiencing “compile error in hidden module” messages when they run a macro to open up a Userform.
This only occurs for some users, not all. They're all running the same Excel version 2010 and on the same OS. I made sure to compile the code (with no errors) prior to sending it to them to no avail.

This is a huge project that took 5 months to create and I'm running up against a hard deadline -- don't have time to create something else instead.

    Help please?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Have you protected the code? If so, you need to unprotect it and then test it on a machine that demonstrates the error in order to determine the actual code issue.

Thanks. Yes, the code is protected. The user is in another office/state and doesn't have time for me to run test on his machine.

If you desire for a FORUM member to assist it is probably necessary that you post the workbook here for review.

Re: Excel userform crashing with “compile error in hidden module”

There are a lot of non-standard references checked in the project- 3 ApexTrue references, 3 MacPac references, a UniToolbox reference and the MS Rich text control. Unchecking all of those doesn't produce any compile errors but I can't confirm that the project still works. I suggest you uncheck them and test yourself. If they aren't needed, then save and redistribute.
