To Add a hyperlink at my site which can open a file placed at a location of WAN network

I am trying with this code but it gives error :

as if i directly add hyperlink to the file by putting link addr as =\\18.12.13.14\Staff Salary\All People\File.htm
its automatically gets coverted into file location and does not opens

plz give some other way or solution

in one line if i say i need a code/a way to add hyperlink to my website to open a file placed at a location with in network
