Create calendar entries using date ranges from a row

I will try to clearly explain what it is that I need to do.

I currently have a spreadsheet that tracks manning in my office. We have approximately 15 people and each time a person supports a given task (typically travel) a row is created. This row has the dates of that task, location, type of work, charge numbers, etc.

What I want to do is take from each row, the name, date and type of work and represent that in a calendar type view on another tab in the same spreadsheet. I have not been able to find anything resembling this online so it may be that I am just trying to use excel for something other than what it is intended for.

    Is this possible?

Please upload a workbook or a representative cut down copy, anonymised if necessary. It is always easier to advise if we can see your request in its context.

Show a before and after situation with manually calculated results, explaining which information is data and which is results, and if it's not blindingly obvious how you have arrived at your results some explanatory notes as well.

To upload a file click the Go Advanced button at the foot of your post, look underneath the post area for the Manage Attachments section and take it from there.

Provided the data is in a suitable format/layout then Excel has tools that can present the data in various ways.
