Track IP address and ask for my consent

Hi there,

Need help on one of my VBA project where I want to know where my project is being used. I want to track the IP address to be tracked and file should ask for my consent to open on new PC (first time). Once user is accepted, he or she can open it in next turn.

Please help me how to make this possible.

I did something similar for one Excel addin that was used by external customers. The addin was password protected. I had the app run msinfo32 and save text file (msinfo32 /report d:\temp\msinfo.txt). I would have the addin FTP a few key pieces of info like MAC address. I would then create a code based on info and name and email it back. They could open app using code. The addin saved the code in the registry. I had about 200 external users and it was a pain to keep track. I eventually gave up.

Apologies, I did not mean otherwise. I was only requesting in case someone can take some time out from his/her busy schedule and help me resolve this query. I completely understand the point you have conveyed here . I was seeking urgent help, if someone can provide here at the earliest and Trust me, I did not intend to sound otherwise here.

When I say addin I develop all my Excel projects as addins (.xlam). All user data is in an .xlsx file. I never combine user data and code (.xlsm). It is a disaster to support.

I looked at using this product https://lockxls.com/product.asp but never did.
