tracking the choices from two drop down lists on one cover sheet

Thanks in advance for any help.

I work in an area where we have 10 machines with unique serial numbers for names, simply and alphanumeric title. Each of these machines has two different sub-units and each have 24 parts. we need to track the changing of these parts "stations". I have 3 dropdown lists, first column has the serial numbers, so the service rep on shift can choose the machine in question, the second drop down list has the choice of which part of the machine they worked on, either "A" or "B". The third drop down list is simply numbers, from 1-24, each to represent the "station" that is being changed.

It would be A1, B1, and C1 respectively.

I have the totals on the front page and want to keep a tally there so we can see what has been the most in the month, if there were regular repeats to let us know if there is an underlying problem. I'm not sure how to create this.

I have a sheet with the total number of stations changed but I would like to run a listing of each of the 10 machine serial numbers in the A column and have the number of stations changed in the A section in column B, the number of B sections in column C.

Any thoughts on how to do it?

the tab names are all the days of the month.

    Welcome to the forum.

There are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook (yellow banner: HOW TO ATTACH YOUR SAMPLE WORKBOOK). Screenshots are of little practical use as we cannot manipulate them.

A good sample workbook has just 10-20 rows of representative data that has been desensitised. The sample layout accurately matches that of your real data. It also has expected results mocked up, worked examples where required, relevant cells highlighted and a few explanatory notes.

    Administrative Note:

Is your forum profile showing the Excel PRODUCT that you need this to work for?

Members will tailor the solutions they offer to the Office PRODUCT (Excel, NOT Windows) that you have. Please check that your forum profile is up-to-date in this respect. If you aren't sure, in Excel go to File | Account and report what it says below the MS logo at the top of that page. If your product is for Mac, please also state this.

The three most recent Excel products are Excel 2019, Excel 2021 and MS365 - if you are using MS365, please give this name along with the version number in your profile (e.g. MS365 Version 2306). This is in the About Excel section further down the Account page.

    Thanks.
