Hi all thanks for your reply I have updated with attachement of the picture
I need help to create a simple sheet that can enter students Date of birth then it shows me their age and then it shows which year group they belong in in which academic year.

There are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook(NOT a picture of it).
There was no massive picture when I read this.

Excel does not like date ranges in a single cell. It makes formulae much more complicated. separate them. See file.

SOMEWHERE you need to define which year you're looking at. I made it E1.

There was when I posted - it was then replaced with a workbook.There was no massive picture when I read this.

sorry to be a bother again, I tried uploading this to google sheets but the calculations arent working and its not displaying the year group but the age calculations work any ideas why it works in microsoft 365 but not google sheets?
I used the same code in both but microsoft works but google sheets doesnt:

You said you were using Excel 365 - is this now a Google Sheets query???
No reply - I'm moving this to the correct forum area for Google Sheets.
I see that you (retrospectively) changed the title to reference google sheets.
I have no idea if it works on GS, as I have never seen one, let alone used one.
You should:
a) have metioned that from the start, and
b) have posted it in the "other platforms" sub-forum.
I changed the title and moved the thread based on post #16, as the focus seems to have shifted away from Excel.
