Hi and welcome to the forum
Without seeing a sample of what you are working with, its hard to offer detailed suggestions, but I cant see why the method you used before, wont work now?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

I have attached a workbook. The first few lines I have copied and pasted . You can see it creates a running balance. But in new excel ,11 the last two lines you see it doesnt create a balance.
If you mean H8:H9, thats because those 2 cells are empty? Copy the formula down to themYou can see it creates a running balance. But in new excel ,11 the last two lines you see it doesnt create a balance
'copy the formula down to them' . ?? which formula, where is it, and how do I copy them down. please excuse my ignorance. thanks for helping though
In G7, you have this formula...
=(IF(ISNUMBER(G6), G6, 0) + F7) - (E7 + 0)
but In G8 downwards, the cells are blank/empty. In order for the calc to continue down, there needs to be a formula that to do the calc.
I suggest you change the formula to this...
=IF(B2="","",IF(ISNUMBER(G1),G1,0)+F2-E2)
Copy that and paste it into G2.
Then look at the bottom-right corner of that cell, you will see a small black "square". Click and hold on that, and *drag* down to well below where your data ends - that will copy it down for you. The modification I made will hide the answer is the cell in column B is empty
thanks for that. it works. why do they make it so hard for average person.///
Happy to help
Its only hard when you dont know how to do it
Shout if you need more help, and thanks for the feedback
