Table issues with 365 and windows 11

I've had a google, and can't seem to find anyone else with issues, but I'm hopeful someone here may have come across the same problems as me.

Does anyone know if there are general issues with medium(ish) sized tables and performance issues on 365 (64-bit) and windows 11? I have workbooks with tables that have maybe 150k rows, calculated columns and significant performance problems. This typically manifests as follows:
    • lagging cell selection when using the keyboard
    • keyboard controls that seem unresponsive, but buffer and then execute with a delay
    • not responding when sorting/filtering - requiring a force close of excel
    • extremely slow calculation

    I've got version 2108 (Build 14326.20784)

I can't give you a specific example, but the same workbooks have been fine in the past and perform properly on windows 10 machines (that are also significantly lower in spec). I have isolated the issues to the tables, as if I convert to ranges, there are no issues.

I think I probably really need to go back to windows 10, Win 11 is awful

Re: Table issues with 365 and windows 11

I have a file that is 28.8M size. I've got a table in it that is a little over 100k rows with calculated columns. It's got 2 other tables in the file, each with around 30k rows and also have calculated columns in them. it also is slow to respond, but not as slow as yours seems to be. I'm now on Windows 11 but also had it on Windows 10 and I didn't see any difference when moving to Windows 11.

My guess is that having a table with over 150k rows and having calculated columns (depending on how many) may be just a lot for Excel to handle.

Do you have any formulas in it that are volatile (INDIRECT, OFFSET, etc.)?

I might create a copy of the file and copy/paste values on some of your formulas and see if that makes a difference. (Actually, I might take one at a time, deleting things, then saving, and seeing if something makes a difference.
