    Reputation glitch?

Just have been aware from a user that he/she can not give reputation twice to the same person.
So in case answering two question in one post you would end up with one reputation or answering two separete topics for the same person would end in the same manner for the OP:
    You must spread some
    Reputation around before
    giving it to xxx again

You can end up without your points or the user can choose someone at random just to give you the points next.
If you are http://www.excelforum.com/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=125481&dateline=1392355029happy with the results, please add to the contributor's
reputation by clicking the reputation icon (star icon).

My experience being that I in most cases ends up with no rep point from the OP no matter how many times I answer the question as the OP often has additional question or the uploaded file is not like the one they have a problem with.

I would say around 25 % of the OP's I've given an answer never give any feedback at all, they just disappear. Roughly 75 % give some kind of feedback i.e. thanks for the help. Of that 75 % about a third gives reps as well.

As one of the more experienced members of the forum once told me. If the don't give any feedback it's because your solution worked because if not they will be back telling you in capital letters "your solution don't work!"

Only once I've had an OP telling me that he wanted to give me additional rep points but was unable to do so because of the forum rules so I'm not sure this is much of a problem.

If you gave someone rep points and after some time same users helped you and you need choose someone at random just to give the points next, please do so.
People that provide answers here deserve more rep points than they get. You can't choose wrong

This sometimes happens to me, Robert (I often give rep for posts which impress me, whether I'm involved in the thread or not). I usually just make a mental note and go back and give rep after I've repped somebody else.

I suppose it's a small safeguard against abuse of the system or just accident (you might rep someone twice in a short time accidentally)
