How to post with an attachment

I am sorry but I cannot find the GO ADVANCED connection. I can get the Manage attachments under additional options and when I download my attachment there I cannot find a way to attach it to my post.
Please: What am I doing wrong.
    Thank you

    To attach a file:

    1. Under the text box where you type your reply click the Go Advanced button.
    2. On the next screen scroll down and under the Attachments section click the Manage Attachments link, which will show a pop-up window.
    3. Click the Choose File button to select a file to attached.
    4. Click the Upload button to upload the file.
    5. Then click the Close This Window button. Your file is now attached to your post.

Thank you for your reply but I do not have a reply box under the original posting a thread box. This does not appear until I submit the post and even then when I have followed your instructions my attachments have not appeared.
Am I using the wrong Posting box?

You would not have been able to reply to this thread if you did not have a reply box!!!

Below right of the quick reply box is the Go Advanced option you need. When you get to the attachment window, you have to select the attachment, click on upload and then save before you post your reply. It works, and there is nothing different about your account, so you are missing a step somewhere, that's all.

Re: How to post with an attachment

    Hello Ali,
The reply box was under 6StringJazzer's reply to my post.
When I started this thread there was no reply box under the thread box.
However I have discovered that If I click the image attachment button in the ribbon above my input box then it re-directs me to upload the file I require and attach it.
Thank you all for trying to sort out my problem.
    Regards
    Jesse

When you start a new thread, Jesse, you have to scroll down until you see Manage Attachments in blue and click that. You can attach a workbook to any post in a thread, and again, your account has no restrictions in this respect.

Re: How to post with an attachment

    Than you Ali,
Now that I know how to do it, it is no longer a problem, but I cannot find out how to save a thread in progress so that I can check on something before I actually post the thread at a later date.
    Can you help me?
    Regards
    Jesse

Unfortunately, no - you can't do that here (I don't know any forum where you can, actually).

It's so hard if I can't post my links.

If you attach your links to the insert image in the ribbon above I think you will find that it works.
    Good luck.

Re: How to post with an attachment

You cannot post links until you have at least 10 posts, and you have only four. You don't need to post links, anyway - we prefer you to use the attachment facility.

On MrE you can manually save a thread or a reply as a draft these days (does an autosave of the draft as well, I think every 2 minutes if my memory is right).
If my solution worked (or not) please let me know. If your question is answered then please remember to mark it solved

Re: How to post with an attachment

MrE moved away form vBulletin - it must be a feature of the newer forum software they are using. I don't post there, so didn't know this.

Just to be clear, there is little or no chance of the software here being upgraded because of the ownership infrastructure of the site, which is a major frustration.
