Dear All,
I have noticed that the forum has started replacing the word '**' with '**' today - anybody know what is suddenly so risqué about the word? ;-)
EDIT: See what I mean! The word in question is 'o_f' without the underscore. :-D

Seems to be a glitch in the system. Admin's have been notified and supposedly in contact with Tech Team. We'll see how long this takes. I wonder if it can be avoided using Caps. Here goes---> **.

Microsoft, Office, Software - still the very same workaround as in the 3.5.x and prior versions.
Masking with BB-Code: Office (just adding black colour to the first f).
For now, I'm using 0f instead.

Yeah - I tried to make a joke (jocular comment) on TMS "Pedantic Proverbs" thread, wherein I wrote that the Rolling Stones were known for having plenty *preposition deleted* grass - and yeah, i knew that grass is not Bryophitic and that grass is not what they were known for - but cannot understand what is objectionable about any preposition or any two letter word - I had always thought that the threshold was four letter words????

Wow, it's even doing it to code
I don't think I can be bothered trying to answer any questions until this is fixed. Having to review every word and decide if you need to edit it in some way is not my idea o f fun.
I hope it is just a case o f what is displayed and not a permanent corruption to the database.

An understandable, but unfortunate statement. I noticed the problem and started putting a 0f or o f in my posts yesterday and didn't feel inconvenienced by it. Checking "every word" would be an issue, had that actually been the issue.
I have a very high opinion of the people who contribute here, and there's not a drop of sarcasm in that statement.
OK, maybe "every word" was an exaggeration. Still. Let us know when it's fixed. In the meantime, I'll take a couple of days off
Whoa ... has it been fixed? Or was that just a bit of luck?
I tested a few words in the Test forum and it seems to have been rectified.

According to martin it's fixed but looking at older threads the ** remains. Hopefully that will be fixed as well.of off microsoft

Just checked my Pedantic Proverbs thread in the Water Cooler ... all mended. And there were quite a few examples in there that were affected.
Is anyone going to formally confirm that whatever was wrongly done has been rightly undone?
Regards, TMS
Trevor can you supply a link to your Pedantic Proverbs thread?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you
