    Grouped vertical axis on chart

    Hi all,

Does anyone know if it's possible to have the vertical axis of a chart grouped? I.e... I have the following data table... (Numbers in brackets denote negative numbers)

    -----A----------B----------C----------
    1--Task 1-----(-15)-------(- 2-4 Weeks)
    2--Task 2-----(-56)-------(- 4-8 Weeks)
    3--Task 3-------5---------1-2 Weeks
    4--Task 4-------20--------2-4 Weeks
    5--Task 5------(-4)-------(- 1-2 Weeks)
    6--Task 6-------50--------4-8 Weeks
    7--Task 7-------6---------1-2 Weeks

Column A is the task name, B is how many days early/late it is and C is the days grouped into one of:

    - 1 - 2 Weeks
    - 2 - 4 Weeks
    - 4 - 8 Weeks
    - 8 - 12 Weeks
    - 12 Weeks +
    1 - 2 Weeks
    2 - 4 Weeks
    4 - 8 Weeks
    8 - 12 Weeks
    12 Weeks +

When I created a chart using the days, it worked fine but the problem is in the scale and that the ones with higher numbers obviously increase the scale of the graph resulting in lower numbers being barely visible. Instead I would like for the vertical axis to show the week groups instead of the days meaning it would be a fixed scale.

Hope that makes sense and any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Jason

Not exactly what you are looking for but perhaps close enough to be helpful. I added a helper column with the formula

to convert days to weeks. I tried =ROUND(B1/14,0) but didn't like the way so many values were zero which would not have shown any differentiation between values. I then made a chart, in the attached file, with the tasks and helper columns.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Yeah you're right it's close enough. Not exactly grouping the the axis but certainly shrinks the scale to ensure all bars are readable so many thanks!
