Red face Finding Trend using Sales rank

    Hi All,

Hope you are doing well!..I have few items and their sales ranks for 5 days ...I am trying to predict whether the item is growing in terms of sales

-Increasing Trend - This is determined if there is a continuous increase in sales rank for 3 of the five days successively

-Declining Trend -This is determined if there is a continuous decrease in sales rank for 3 of the five days successively

Stable Trend -This is determined if the trend is stable in sales rank for 3 of the five days successively

Please find attached the sheet for your reference..

    Thanks,
    Arun

Re: Finding Trend using Sales rank

    Please try at C2
    =LOOKUP(MODE(IF(('Input '!$B$2:$B$16=A2)*('Input '!$B$3:$B$17=A2),SIGN('Input '!$C$3:$C$17-'Input '!$C$2:$C$16))),{-1,0,1},{"Decreasing","Stable","Increasing"})&" Trend"

**Array formulas are not entered in the same way as 'standard' formulas. Instead of pressing just ENTER, you first hold down CTRL and SHIFT, and only then press ENTER. If you've done it correctly, you'll notice Excel puts curly brackets {} around the formula (though do not attempt to manually insert these yourself).
