# by using "sumifs" excel doesn't recognize the value of a cel as criteria

1. ## by using "sumifs" excel doesn't recognize the value of a cel as criteria

Dear friends,
I am using the following problem...I working on a huge spreadsheet...and I am using the funxtion countifs.
Essentially if I put figures as criteria it works...but if I put the referring cells...something goes wrong...:
ok if I write : =+SUMIFS(\$C\$4:\$C\$29333,\$B\$4:\$B\$29333,">=41655.7083",\$B\$4:\$B\$29333,"<=41655.7299",\$G\$4:\$G\$29333,"=1")
but problemas if I write cells O4 by instance instead of a value such as 41655.7083...: =+SUMIFS(\$C\$4:\$C\$29333,\$B\$4:\$B\$29333,">=O4 ",\$B\$4:\$B\$29333,"<= P4 ",\$G\$4:\$G\$29333,"=1")

Why?
I have to work with a lot of data...so I cannot put always the values one by one...
Sincerely
Antonio

You need to "concatenate", e.g.

"<="&P4

3. ## Re: by using "sumifs" excel doesn't recognize the value of a cel as criteria

Change your Criteria arguments to refer to the cell reference outside quotes:
Formula:
`Please Login or Register to view this content.`
