Corrupted Workbook Recovery Removes Pivot Tables

    Hi,

    Using Excel 2016.
When I try to open a Workbook that worked fine 2 days ago, I now receive the dreaded message:
We found a problem with some content in Workbook.xlsx. Do you want us to try to recover as much as we can? If you trust the source of the workbook, click yes.
If I select yes, the workbook opens, but all Pivot Tables are removed.
If I select no, the workbook does not open.

Any ideas how I can recover the workbook with Pivot Tables intact?

    thx
    w
    Kind regards,
    w

    1. If you have a backup (you should always make a backup on a regular basis) use it.

    2. Right click the file in Windows Explorer (Windows File Manager) and choose Previous Versions. If Previous Versions exist, they will be presented to you and you can open them. Pick the last one before the problems started and save under a different name.

    3. If all else fails, open the workbook and re-create the pivot tables.
