    need a formula in conditional formating

    Following is the data i have

    AND FOLLOWING RESULT I WANT BY USING CONDITIONAL FORMATTING

    PLEASE TELL ME THE WHATS THE FORMULA USE IN CONDITIONAL FORMATING. I M USING EXCEL 2007

    What exactly are you trying to do here?
    Youe sample answer does not match your sample data?

    Select the A column then put

    =B2="Holiday" in conditional formatting

    hmm OK I think I see what you have there. Use this as teh CF rule...
    =vlookup($F2,$A$2:$B$8,2,0)="Holiday"

    Actuly Sir
    in Date i have a list of holidays i.e on which date holiday comes
    in another file i have list of dates
    so i want to highlite the date on which holiday comes

    i hope you understand

    What was the problem?

    Did you set the Applies To range to be the same as the VLOOKUP range?
