Linking indivudual match stats to a season summary in sports statistics

I run a local football/soccer team in the UK and I am looking to create an excel spreadsheet to keep track of the team stats and individual players stats.

My Idea is that Each week I would update a match stat sheet. This would list all the players who played along with who scored the goals. who got the assists, yellow cards, red cards and Man of the match.
I would want all this data to be then linked to a summary sheet that would list all the players at the club in a table along with the total number of goals, assists etc they have scored all season. I am willing to do a lot of work to have this initially set up, in a hope I can do minimal work each week to keep it updated.

any help would be hugely appreciated,
    anth
