Hide individual cells, but keep rows and sheet as is

Does anyone know how to hide individual cells in a sheet? What I want to do is just hide cells A3 to D16, but keep the rest of the sheets as is. So when the cells are hidden, it does not also hide the rows. I have tried this method under format, but it did not do what I wanted. I want those highlighted cells hidden altogether, but not that row as the rest of the sheet needs to stay as is.

You're on the right track....use semiColon ';'. under custom you need 3 of them ';;;' (do not type the single quotes!)

How about simply changing the font to white?

@queuesef Thanks I have tried that with the ;;;. True, it made the cells hide the formula from visibility, but it did not do what I wanted. What I am looking for is something that will completely hide those selected cells and keep the rows as is.

You cannot hide individual cells, only entire rows or entire columns.

So I really don't get what you want then....BUT how about you have a COPY of the sheet in back of the original sheet (orig sheet = sheet1; create a copy in sheet 2). Then you can DELETE the cells that are bothering you or put in some text as you showed above ":". This way you can copy back to original sheet if you need to. You can hide or make a sheet 'VeryHidden' if you need to. Other than that, please explain yourself a bit better.
