    Conditional formatting using icon sets

    Good morning, I have the following formula in a cell and works great:

    =(IF(AA2<NOW(),"Expired","OK")

    What I would like to do is replace the word "Expired" by a red X and the word "OK" by a green checkmark in the result cell itself

    When applying the conditional formatting, you have Icon, Value and Type, what would you insert in the "Value" section?

    Thanks

    I would do it like this.

    CF rule:

    =(IF(AA2<NOW(),"û","ü")

    Then use the cell contains option (û for red and ü for green).

    Confused? You will be until you've set the font for those cells to Wingdings.

    PS You can't use icon sets with formula CF rules.

    Re: Conditional formatting using icon sets

    I have one more question, now that I got it to work, it actually inserted a green check mark and a red X, when I do a mail merge to insert that symbol, the result shows "û" or "ü" instead. Do you know how to fix that?
    Thanks
