Excel Converted To Standalone Program?

Hi,

I have a complicated workbook, which is used for a very specific set of tasks. I am curious if there is a commercially available
solution that would allow this to be turned into a fully independent program, than can run on windows. I am not looking for
a solution that will basically allow excel t run without being installed....I need a completely separate program.

If there is not, What programming language do you all feel might be best to use for someone if I had to hire them to write
it from scratch, matching functionality?

There are tools called Excel compilers that can compile an Excel file into a binary format but if I understand correctly you still need Excel installed on the computer to run it. These are generally for security and copy protection, not portability or as a standalone application.

I have never seen any tool that will take an Excel file and convert it into a standalone executable. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist, but I've looked. "I am not looking for a solution that will basically allow excel [to] run without being installed" But that is exactly what you are looking for. Any tool that did this would have to incorporate all of the functionality of Excel to be useful, and at that point you might as well install Excel, or an open-source alternative like LibreOffice.

This depends on what functionality you need. If you have to hire someone, then you would let them decide what language to use unless you have a particular reason you want a specific language. Python is pretty popular right now.
