    Timer in excel

    Hi All,

I want to create a visual timer that counts up.
It will have a start and stop button. So the timer will show in sheet 1 and then populate the elapsed time in sheet 2 but not overwrite the previous entries unless chosen to.
I want the timer to be formatted in green until a certain time lapsed occurs and then turns red.
I have managed to make a timer in excel but can't get it to populate the elapsed time to sheet 2 or to turn red after a designate time.
    Any help would be appreciated.

A google search on "excel timer" will get you several examples. If you can upload your code, someone can likely comment on it.

    Re: Timer in excel

See if the attached does what you want.
It places the data on Sheet1 and Sheet2 (just eliminate the code referencing Sheet 1 on the 'STOP' button if you do not require it).
To set the 'countdown'> uncheck 'Set Countdown' checkbox > Hit 'Zero CountPeriod' button > fill countdown period textboxes > recheck 'Set CountDown' checkbox.
Hit 'START' button > Stopwatch starts and when countdown reaches zero both StopWatch & Countdown turn red.
Runs as a stop watch if 'Set CountDown' is left unchecked.
If you want the present process to overwrite the previous tick the overwrite checkbox before hitting 'START'
Date & Clock are system driven.........'START' & 'STOP' buttons flip/flop........the checkboxes and 'ZERO' button are only active when the 'STOP' button shows.
    regards.

    Hi,

    Thanks for that Torachan.
This works a treat for my requirements.
Is there any possibility that the timer can be preset for a count period and remain at that time period without having to input it everytime the clock has been stopped.

Please don't quote whole posts, especially when you are responding to the one immediately preceding your own - it's just clutter. It's OK to quote if you are responding to a post out of sequence, but limit quoted content to a few relevant lines that makes clear to whom and what you are responding. Thanks!
