Making distinction between a actual person or VBA opening a xlsm file

    Hi All,

I am new to this form, and new to programming in VBA in general.
The project i am working on is coming along nicely, but there are a few more hurdles to take.

There is this file called main.xlsm, and it must be opend in 2 diffrend ways:
    1. When a actual person opens main.xlsm, a userform popsup (just as i want).
    2. When VBA opens main.xlsm from some other file to update data, the same userform popsup (this i don't want).

Is there a way to make this distinction?

All help is welkom, thanks in advance
    Renze
