Attachments saving with Thread name not filename.

Has any one noticed that when saving attachments they are saved with a long alphanumeric string (a checksum) followed by the thread name?

For example I saved an attachment from this thread.

The attachment name appears as Performance Analysis V7.xlsm but when I download the name is 272109d1382205607-error-handling-on-2-combo-box-relationship-on-worksheet-to-allow-typing-performance-analysis-v7.xlsm.

Just tested and it downloaded properly for me. Strange isn't it? Did you try a second download?

    Alan

It's every download I've made in the last couple of days.

At first I thought it was the file name with the alphanumeric name in front but then I tried to find a file I'd previously downloaded and found it was the thread name.

I did install Windows 8.1 the other day, but I can't see how that might cause something like this.

I'll check further with other devices/browsers.

What browser are you using? I checked with Firefox 24 and no issues.

I get the same behaviour with Windows 8.1 and IE11, but not Firefox 24.

Clearing the browser cache helps. I was just experiencing problems with the site again and just cleared my cache and its fixed it.

    Using FF v24.0

I usually use IE, but I've tried with Firefox too and the same thing occurs.

Not checked with any other browsers/OSs yet.

    Norie,
I use Chrome on both my machines and have not had an issue of this type. I like Chrome as it allows me to synchronize favorites between machines.

    Alan

Just tried Chrome, same thing happening.

Think it might be a Windows 8.1 thing.
