Darts League Schedule - Irregular Pattern finding

I have spent most of my day trolling through all the league schedulers/generators, forums, etc., with no success - due to the dynamics of uneven venues...

My dilemma happens when the teams come from the same venue/home base:

6 Teams (We will call them A,B,C,D,E,F)
4 Venues (We will call Them 1,2,3,4)
    15 Weeks

All teams will play every week.
Teams B,C come from Venue 2
Teams D,E come from Venue 3
Teams A,F have their own venues 1,4

The venues are sponsors to the teams so they would like to see there teams as much as possible - but keeping things fair...

So, each week there should be 3 games going on in different venues.
As venue 2,3 have two teams each there should be a game on here every week
Venues 1,4 have a team each so the home games can be split evenly.

    Still with me?

By the end of the 15 weeks, everyone should have played 3 games with every other team

I can find patterns to the Home venues and Home teams to play, but when looking at the Away teams I go COMPLETELY BLANK.... (Not to mention a little stir crazy).

It should be easy but for the life of me, im lost..

Re: Darts League Schedule - Irregular Pattern finding

I don't know if there's a ready-made schedule procedure, but with only 15 weeks to plan, I went with a bit of a "brute force" approach. I created a matrix using the formula below - filled right and down - to track how many times each team had played the others:

    =IF(L$1=$K2,"X",COUNTIFS($G:$G,L$1,$H:$H,$K2)+COUNTIFS($G:$G,$K2,$H:$H,L$1))

I came up with 5 weeks in which every team played the others once, then I duplicated that, swapping the home and away sides for the next 5 weeks, and finally I pasted it again for the last 5 weeks. There were a few home/away discrepancies to be ironed out manually, but I think my end result looks okay? There's no magic to it, though, so be sure to check everything carefully.

Have a look at the attachment to see if it will do:

I cant find any discrepancies and it all appears to line up fairly - the teams better not change venues next comp!!! lol

I really do appreciate the input you have done to assist me in this. I love puzzles but this was doing my head in...

Haha, glad I could help! If each team gets its own venue, it might actually make things easier, but short of that, try to make them stay put!
